Vana-Reese Schuster-Togiatau, a 19-year-old woman from Jimboomba, has died following a shooting at a boxing event in Loganholme, south of Brisbane. She was an innocent bystander when gunfire erupted outside Fitzy’s at approximately 8:15 pm on Saturday.

Police report that two men wearing balaclavas and gloves opened fire from the front passenger window of a vehicle that pulled into the venue’s drop-off zone during an intermission. Schuster-Togiatau sustained gunshot wounds to her head and neck and was treated at Princess Alexandra Hospital before passing away.

She was one of four people shot during the incident, which occurred in front of more than 100 attendees. The shooting has been classified as a homicide investigation. Detectives are currently examining potential links to organized crime and gang involvement. The vehicle allegedly used in the attack was later discovered burnt out.
