Loganholme boxing event shooting

Overview

On the night of October 24, 2026, masked gunmen opened fire from a vehicle during an intermission at a boxing event outside Fitzys Hotel in Loganholme, Queensland. The attackers fired at least six shots at people near a drop-off zone, wounding a 19-year-old woman in the head and neck, as well as three men in the abdomen.

Following the attack, police recovered a burnt-out Mitsubishi ASX in Waterford West and a dual-cab ute set alight in Tamborine. Investigators initially treated the incident as a pre-planned attack, though the specific motive remained unclear.

By October 29, the 19-year-old victim, identified as Vana-Reese Schuster-Togiatau, passed away at Princess Alexandra Hospital. The investigation has since been classified as a homicide, with detectives examining potential links to organized crime and gang involvement.
