Logistics companies expand electric truck fleets across Europe

Several European logistics firms are significantly increasing their investment in electric heavy-duty vehicles to meet decarbonization goals and reduce operational costs.

In Switzerland, wholesaler Pistor has commissioned its 30th electric truck and announced plans to invest 15 million Swiss francs by 2030. The company aims to have at least half of its fleet electrified by that year to save 1,600 tonnes of CO2 annually.

In the Netherlands, Oegema Logistics+ has expanded its fleet to 50 electric trucks, with 20 more on order. The company recently opened a new charging facility in Dedemsvaart to manage the complex logistical requirements of electric heavy-duty transport.

Eutraco has announced it will transition to fully electric transport for dedicated high-volume flows starting January 1, utilizing a fleet of 50 electric trucks. The company aims to offer these zero-emission solutions at the same cost as diesel transport.

In Germany, the Rigterink Logistics Group has deployed Mercedes-Benz eActros 300L trucks for urban delivery. By using eco-friendly electricity at their locations, the company aims to achieve zero CO2 emissions across the entire energy chain for these routes.
