Logistics companies in the Benelux region are expanding their electric vehicle fleets as part of broader sustainability initiatives.
H. Essers has added twenty new electric trucks to its fleet, consisting of ten MAN vehicles and ten Mercedes-Benz Trucks. This expansion brings the company's total electric fleet to 31 vehicles. The company aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its transport fleet by 42 percent by 2030. To support this, H. Essers is investing in charging infrastructure in Genk and Bergen op Zoom, increasing capacity to 2.7 megawatts.
Similarly, the logistics provider Reining has ordered 29 new Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks, including one fully electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600. Reining utilizes these vehicles for international volume transport across the Benelux, Germany, Switzerland, and France, focusing on long-term reliability and low operational costs.
