Logistics infrastructure investments announced in Spain and Chile

In Spain, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has authorized the tender for the development and urbanization of the Punta del Sebo lands within the Port of Huelva's Logistics Activity Zone (ZAL). This project involves an investment of over 20 million euros, funded entirely by the Port Authority of Huelva through its 2026-2030 investment plan. The initiative aims to boost intermodal traffic, add value to port activities, and create employment by designing road networks and essential urban infrastructure, including water, electricity, and telecommunications.

In Chile, regional authorities are working to establish the Ñuble Region as a major logistics hub. Strategic projects under discussion include the Ñuble Logistics Hub, a railway logistics hub in collaboration with EFE at the Almarza site, and a study to transform the Bernardo O’Higgins airfield into a cargo airport serving the southern macro-zone. These efforts aim to integrate road, rail, and air connectivity to support the region's productive growth.
