Logitech faces lawsuit over alleged withholding of tariff refunds

Logitech is facing a class action lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The plaintiffs, including SJK Development and Ala Awadalla, allege that the company failed to pass on tariff refunds to consumers after the Supreme Court ruled certain import duties under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) were unlawful.

According to the complaint, Logitech increased prices for approximately 51 percent of its portfolio in April 2025, with some products rising by as much as 25 percent. The lawsuit claims these price hikes were used to offset import tariffs that the company has since been reimbursed for by the U.S. government.

Logitech reportedly received $61 million in tariff refunds, which the company confirmed were included in its fiscal year 2027 first-quarter results. The plaintiffs argue that Logitech has effectively profited twice: first by charging consumers higher prices to cover the tariffs, and second by retaining the government reimbursements without offering credits, refunds, or price reductions to the affected customers.
