Lola Gaos Awards rescheduled to December 5 due to elections

The ninth edition of the Lola Gaos Awards, which honors Valencian audiovisual productions, has been rescheduled to Saturday, December 5. The ceremony was originally planned for November 28, but the date now coincides with the electoral reflection period ahead of the general elections scheduled for November 29.

The decision to postpone the event was made jointly by the Acadèmia Valenciana de l’Audiovisual (AVAV), the Consell de l’Audiovisual de la Comunitat Valenciana, and the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC). Organizers stated the move aims to ensure the ceremony receives the media focus and public connection that Valencian cinema deserves, without being overshadowed by political news.

The gala will take place at the Palau de la Música in Valencia and will be broadcast by À Punt. It will be presented by actor Óscar Lasarte and directed by Rafa Piqueras. Among the nominees, the film ‘Eixam’ leads with 18 individual nominations across 15 categories, followed by ‘Cowgirl’ with 10 nominations and ‘El mal padre’ with eight.
