Lolo-Bouenguidi medical caravans provide healthcare in Gabon

A series of medical caravans have been organized to provide healthcare services to the populations of the Lolo-Bouenguidi department in central-east Gabon.

One initiative, held at the Paul-Moukambi Regional Hospital, was launched by the Mayor of Koulamoutou in collaboration with the 27th Chinese Medical Mission to Gabon and the Fraternité Basse-Lombo association. The mission provides 11 medical specialties, including pediatrics, gynecology, surgery, and ophthalmology, to offer specialized consultations and care.

In a separate effort under the ‘Lombo-Bouenguidi Vacances 2026’ program, Deputy Dr. Armel Boubindji led a six-day mission covering 18 villages, including Pana and Dienga. This caravan provided free consultations, vaccinations, deworming, and circumcisions, alongside awareness sessions on HIV/AIDS, STIs, and malaria. The program also included the distribution of free medication and mosquito nets for pregnant women and young children, as well as the donation of biomedical equipment to the Pana Medical Center and the Dienga Health Center to strengthen local healthcare capacities.
