Medical caravans in Gabon

Overview

Various medical caravans have been organized across different regions of Gabon to provide free healthcare services to local populations.

In Lambaréné, the Archdiocese of Libreville conducted an initiative as part of an evangelization campaign led by Archbishop Jean-Patrick Iba-Ba. This program offered consultations in several specialties, such as pediatrics, dental surgery, and nephrology, while distributing prescribed medications at the Notre-Dame de l’Ogooué parish and Lalala primary school.

In the Lolo-Bouenguidi department, multiple efforts were launched to expand healthcare access. One mission at the Paul-Moukambi Regional Hospital involved the Mayor of Koulamoutou, the Fraternité Basse-Lombo association, and the 27th Chinese Medical Mission to Gabon, providing 11 medical specialties. Additionally, the ‘Lombo-Bouenguidi Vacances 2026’ program, led by Deputy Dr. Armel Boubindji, reached 18 villages to provide vaccinations, deworming, circumcisions, and awareness sessions on HIV/AIDS, STIs, and malaria. This program also included the distribution of mosquito nets and the donation of biomedical equipment to the Pana and Dienga health centers.
