Lomé hosts major African cultural and cinematic festivals
Lomé is set to become a central hub for African creativity through two major upcoming cultural events. The second edition of the Instant T Festival will take place from November 27 to December 13, 2026. The festival aims to support the development of cultural and creative industries in Togo, featuring a program that is more than 80% African creations. This edition will introduce new elements including digital arts, e-gaming, and intellectual debates regarding the role of artists and entrepreneurship.
Additionally, the 13th edition of the Émergence Festival, operating under the ‘Festival Nomade’ label, will run from November 2 to November 11, 2026. This event focuses on cinema and serves as a bridge between African and European film professionals through a partnership with France’s Off-Courts festival. The program includes the screening of approximately 38 films, ranging from documentaries to animation, and will host around 150 guests. To support professional development, the festival will also offer specialized training workshops, including sessions on acting.
