Lombardy Councillor Astuti Calls for Funding and Timelines on Luino and Del Ponte Hospital Projects

Regional Democratic Party councillor Samuele Astuti has asked the Lombardy welfare department for a detailed technical and economic assessment, funding sources and a clear schedule to replace temporary portable air‑conditioning units with a permanent climate‑control system at the Luino hospital. He warned that “the reliance on portable units cannot become the structural solution for a hospital” and stressed the need for compliance with hygiene and safety standards.

Astuti also submitted an interrogation concerning the third lot of the Del Ponte hospital in Varese, which remains unfinished ten years after its 2016 allocation. He highlighted missing climate‑control, modern sanitary facilities and a proper staff canteen, questioning whether the originally promised resources are still available or if the project is being downsized, and demanded a definitive timeline for completion.
