Lombardy launches 2026-2027 influenza vaccination campaign

Lombardy will launch its 2026-2027 influenza vaccination campaign on October 1. The initial phase provides free vaccinations to high-risk groups, including pregnant women, children and adolescents aged 6 months to 17 years, individuals over 60, those with underlying health conditions, and recommended workers such as healthcare staff, law enforcement, and school personnel.

Starting October 12, the free vaccination program will expand to the general population. Local pharmacies will assist in administering doses to adults and adolescents aged 12 and older. Vaccination centers will be available for minors starting October 12, with general population access beginning October 26.

To facilitate access, an Open Day will be held at San Siro Stadium on October 3, from 9:00 to 15:00, where citizens aged 12 and older can receive vaccinations. Regional Welfare Assessor Guido Bertolaso emphasized that the campaign aims to strengthen community protection through a wide network of doctors, pediatricians, pharmacies, and vaccination centers.
