Lombardy night highway closures disrupt A8 and A9 traffic

From the night of 3 August to the morning of 5 August, the A8 Milano‑Varese highway between Castellanza and Legnano will be closed to traffic in the Milan‑bound direction to allow barrier‑renovation works. Drivers heading to Milan must exit at Castellanza, follow the SS33 Sempione to Legnano and re‑enter the A8.

A second set of night works will affect the A9 Lainate‑Como‑Chiasso and the A8 Milano‑Varese routes on the night of 5 August to 6 August. The A9 ramp that feeds the A8 toward Milan will be closed, with an alternate route via Saronno, the SP527 Bustese to Rescaldina‑Castellanza and back onto the A8. Additional closures include the Lainate‑Arese ramp, the Origgio Ovest exit, and the Villoresi Ovest service area.

Autostrade per l'Italia advises motorists to plan journeys in advance, follow temporary signage and use the indicated diversions to minimise disruption.
