Lombardy Council Expands Special Commissions, Adds Workplace Health‑Safety Body

On 20 July 2026 the Regional Council of Lombardy renewed the leadership of five existing special commissions and created a new commission dedicated to health and safety in workplaces. The new body, “Salute e sicurezza nei luoghi di lavoro in Lombardia”, was appointed with Giulio Gallera (Forza Italia) as president, Samuele Astuti (PD) as vice‑president and Romana Dell’Erba (Fratelli d’Italia) as secretary.

The other commissions confirmed or elected included: Alessia Villa (Fratelli d’Italia) for the rights of persons deprived of liberty in prisons; Paola Pollini (Movimento 5 Stelle) for the Antimafia, anticorruption and transparency commission, with Paola Bulbarelli (Fratelli d’Italia) as secretary; Giovanni Malanchini (Lega) for autonomy and local‑government re‑ordering; Giacomo Zamperini (Fratelli d’Italia) for mountain‑territory protection and cross‑border relations with Switzerland; Claudia Carzeri (Forza Italia) for the PNRR monitoring commission; and Riccardo Vitari (Lega) as vice‑president of the Antimafia commission. The renewals were carried out according to article 25 of the council’s regulations and took place at Palazzo Pirelli in Milan.
