Pune Police file chargesheet in Ketan Agarwal murder case

The Pune Rural Police have filed a detailed chargesheet, spanning over 5,000 pages, in connection with the murder of businessman Ketan Agarwal. The chargesheet names his fiancée, Siya Goyal, her lover Chetan Chaudhary, and Ritesh Hange as the primary accused.

Investigators allege the death, which occurred on June 18 at Lohagad Fort, was a premeditated murder rather than an accident. The police claim the trio spent months planning the crime, which included conducting reconnaissance of various locations like Tiger Point to find spots without CCTV coverage. The accused reportedly studied murder-related films, podcasts, and previous criminal cases, such as the Sonam Raghuvanshi case, to learn how to evade detection.

Evidence cited in the chargesheet includes WhatsApp chats, call detail records, mobile data, and statements from approximately 80 to 85 witnesses, including eyewitnesses. The police also noted that the accused initially considered hiring outsiders to cause Agarwal injury but changed the plan to execute the murder themselves to avoid complications. The investigation further revealed a failed attempt to push Agarwal from the cliff on June 14 and the creation of a fake Instagram account to facilitate the plot.
