Long Son implements digital literacy campaign to boost marine economy

Authorities in the Long Son commune of Ho Chi Minh City are implementing a digital literacy campaign to fulfill Politburo Resolution 57-NQ/TW, which aims to advance national science, technology, and digital transformation.

Due to the geographical isolation of residents living in aquaculture ponds and floating fish farms, digital technology teams are using a grassroots approach. These teams visit homes and floating farms directly to provide personalized training, helping residents install and navigate online public services and digital platforms on their mobile devices.

Long Son has become a significant economic hub, hosting the Long Son Petrochemical Complex—a project valued at over $5 billion—alongside an international port and various supporting factories. To support this growth, the region has expanded its telecommunications infrastructure, increasing its mobile base stations to improve coverage across the island community.
