Long Thành International Airport and connecting roads accelerate construction

Construction is accelerating at the Long Thành International Airport project and its vital connecting infrastructure in Vietnam. The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) reports that the airport's component project 3, which includes passenger terminals, runways, and technical infrastructure, is entering a phase of completion and system testing. Of the 16 main construction packages, four are complete, and the cumulative value of work has reached approximately 79.46% of contract values.

To ensure connectivity, two major road projects, 25B and 25C, are being fast-tracked to link Ho Chi Minh City and the Ring Road 3 area to the airport. Road 25B, a 10-lane route, is undergoing rapid expansion and paving to meet the airport's operational timeline. Road 25C, an 8-lane route, is also nearing completion, with work focusing on challenging marshy terrain to ensure the full route is open by 2026.

ACV is closely monitoring progress, particularly for four key packages identified as critical path items. Challenges such as high demand for labor and equipment, coordination between contractors, and weather conditions are being managed to maintain the project schedule.
