Longaví women entrepreneurs gain new market opportunities with FOSIS support
A group of 19 rural women in Longaví, Chile, operating under the "Mesa de la Mujer Rural con Enfoque de Género" received equipment, a processing room, and training through the FOSIS "Emprendamos Grupal Autogestionado" program. The investment of 7,852,000 Chilean pesos will allow them to meet sanitary resolution requirements, enabling sales at regional fairs and in distant markets such as Santiago.
Regional authorities, including the Maule Government and the municipal mayor, visited the cohort, praised their efforts, and highlighted the project’s role in strengthening female entrepreneurship and rural incomes.
The women produce fresh vegetables and fruits and process them into jams, sweets, sauces, baked goods, and artisanal souvenirs, aiming to expand distribution beyond the Maule region.
