LONGi partners with European solar teams for 2026 American Solar Challenge
Solar technology firm LONGi announced partnerships with Belgium's Innoptus Solar Team and the Netherlands' Delft Solar Team for the 2026 Elektrek American Solar Challenge. The endurance race runs from July 25 to August 1, taking teams from Minnesota to Texas along the historic Route 66 corridor and awards the greatest cumulative distance covered over eight days.
LONGi will supply its high‑efficiency Back Contact (BC) photovoltaic technology, including flexible modules for curved surfaces and solar cell strings, to both teams. The collaboration builds on LONGi's previous work with Innoptus during the 2025 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge and aims to validate next‑generation PV solutions under real‑world racing conditions.
By testing lightweight, high‑conversion‑efficiency solar cells in demanding terrain and weather, LONGi seeks to accelerate innovation in solar mobility while showcasing the performance of its BC technology on a prominent North American platform.
