LONGi Solar secures 300 MWh Italian storage deal and backs BC tech in US solar race

LONGi Solar announced a partnership with German energy group RWE to deliver a 300 MWh utility‑scale battery energy storage system in Italy. The project will use LONGiBank 2.0 6.25 MWh containerized lithium‑iron‑phosphate batteries and is aimed at peak‑shaving, ancillary services and supporting Italy’s national grid as the country advances its energy‑climate plan.

In a separate initiative, LONGi teamed with Belgium’s Innoptus Solar Team and the Netherlands’ Delft Solar Team to supply its back‑contact photovoltaic modules for the 2026 American Solar Challenge. The collaboration continues LONGi’s strategy of using solar‑car racing as a real‑world laboratory for high‑efficiency cell technology before broader commercial rollout.
