L’Oréal-UNESCO awards 35 women in science in France

The 2026 L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science France awards have recognized 35 doctoral and post-doctoral researchers for their contributions to various scientific disciplines. The selection was made from nearly 820 candidates by a jury of over 50 members of the French Academy of Sciences.

Among the laureates are researchers from Strasbourg, including Qianwen Tan, who is studying phase-change materials to create building facades that store and release heat to reduce reliance on air conditioning, and Laura Pecorari. Additionally, five researchers from Université Paris Cité were honored, including Camille Moisset, who focuses on the internal mechanisms of stars. The awardees represent diverse fields such as biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, engineering, and Earth sciences.
