Lorca-inspired performances announced in Argentina and Spain

Argentine choreographer and director Oscar Araiz will premiere ‘Quimera’ at the Centro Cultural Recoleta on October 8. The work is inspired by the poetic universe of Federico García Lorca and is specifically designed for the space of La Capilla. The piece explores themes of diversity, humanization, and emotional atmospheres through dance and visual elements, featuring costumes by Renata Schussheim.

In Spain, the Atalaya company will present ‘Lorca's Indomitas’ at the Romea Theatre in Barcelona from October 7 to 11. Directed by Juana Casado and Ricardo Iniesta, the production focuses on the female characters within Lorca’s literary universe. Rather than staging a specific text, the performance creates a dialogue between various female figures from his works, using movement and gesture to explore themes of rebellion, desire, and social tension.
