Lord of the Miracles celebrations held in Peru and the United States

Devotees of the Lord of the Miracles, the patron saint of Peru, are holding traditional religious celebrations and processions in both Peru and the United States during October.

In Lima, thousands of faithful accompanied the image through the city center following a mass at the Las Nazarenas church. The procession features members of the Brotherhood dressed in purple, carrying a replica of a 17th-century fresco believed to have been painted by an Angolan slave. The original image is venerated for its survival during a devastating earthquake in 1655.

In Connecticut, the Brotherhood of the Lord of the Miracles is organizing major celebrations in Stamford, Bridgeport, and New Haven. In Stamford, festivities include a rosary prayer and a procession starting from Saint Mary and ending at Saint Benedict church. The event expects participation from various delegations, including groups from Hartford, New Haven, and New York, with approximately 300 carriers expected to participate.
