Lorenia Valles promotes water and indigenous rights reforms in Sonora

Senator with leave Lorenia Valles Sampedro led an informational assembly in Etchojoa, Sonora, titled “La Patria no se vende, se ama y se defiende.” She presented recent federal legal reforms on water resources and indigenous rights, citing the amendment to article 2 of the Mexican Constitution that recognises indigenous communities as subjects of public law.

Valles explained the new water legislation approved by the Senate, aimed at regulating water distribution for personal consumption and agriculture, and noted the recent issuance of 30 water‑concession titles to ejidatarios in Navojoa. She also announced her candidacy for coordination of the Committees for the Defense of the Transformation and National Sovereignty in Sonora.
