Lorenia Valles says Sonora backs Mexico's Fourth Transformation coalition

Senator Lorenia Valles, currently on leave, attended the oath‑taking of the municipal executive committee of the Partido Encuentro Solidario in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora. She said the Fourth Transformation (4T) has a strong political coalition and enjoys the confidence of citizens, noting that it has lifted 13.4 million Mexicans out of poverty.

Valles highlighted that the coalition, led by Morena and joined by the Labour Party, the Green Ecologist Party, the Encuentro Solidario party and Nueva Alianza, holds a majority in the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies and many local congresses, allowing a qualified majority for constitutional reforms such as the amendment recognizing welfare programmes as rights. She praised Governor Alfonso Durazo’s administration as an example of democratic governance, adding that Sonorans support the 4T because it governs with honesty, closeness and results, reflected in high approval ratings for the President and the Governor.
