Lorenzo Musetti wins Lyon ATP 250 title

Lorenzo Musetti captured his third career ATP title by defeating Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-4 in the final of the Grand Prix Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in Lyon. The victory marks the Italian's first singles title since 2022 and ends a streak of seven consecutive losses in tournament finals.

Musetti, the sixth seed, demonstrated significant resilience throughout the tournament. Before the final, he overcame a difficult semifinal against compatriot Flavio Cobolli, where he saved four match points. In the championship match, Musetti maintained control by not conceding a single break point to Fritz, despite the American entering the final having won all 31 of his service games during the week.

This win makes Musetti the first Italian man to claim the title in Lyon. He joins Jannik Sinner, Flavio Cobolli, and Luciano Darderi as the Italian players to have secured ATP titles in 2026.
