Loreto opens Bellaluce roundabout honoring Don Luigi Giussani

On Saturday, 1 August, the town of Loreto inaugurated a new roundabout on state road SP 24, at the junction with Costabianca and Montarice. The 42‑metre‑diameter structure, named “Bellaluce” and dedicated to Don Luigi Giussani, was co‑financed by the Province of Ancona and the municipality of Loreto at a total cost of €625,000. Officials said the project will improve safety on a historically accident‑prone intersection that links Loreto, Porto Recanati and Recanati and is traversed by the Macerata‑Loreto pilgrimage route.

Mayor Moreno Pieroni, Province President Daniele Carnevali, Public Works Assessors Giovanni Tanfani and Silvia Giampaoli, as well as the archbishop Fabio Dal Cin, attended the ribbon‑cutting ceremony. The roundabout features a central island of 26 metres and four connecting ramps designed to reduce vehicle speed and enhance traffic flow across the three municipalities.
