Los Angeles Dodgers prepare for NLDS with Ohtani and Freeman healthy

The Los Angeles Dodgers are preparing for the National League Division Series (NLDS) with a focus on player health and roster readiness. Superstars Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman are both expected to be available following recent injury concerns. Ohtani, who dealt with right biceps and left knee issues that led to an injured list stint, has returned to the lineup for the final five games of the regular season. Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes stated that Ohtani is “feeling great physically” and will use upcoming rest days to refine his hitting. Manager Dave Roberts expressed confidence that Ohtani will provide a high-level performance in the postseason.

Freddie Freeman is also expected to contribute after managing patellar tendinitis in his right knee, which impacted his production late in the season. Freeman has expressed confidence in his ability to regain his form during the upcoming break. Additionally, the Dodgers' pitching staff remains a significant strength, with Roberts noting the depth of the rotation as they prepare to face the winner of the Braves-Phillies Wild Card series.

The team is aiming for a third consecutive World Series title, bolstered by a strong September performance and a highly-ranked starting rotation.
