Los Angeles Dodgers postseason roster and health updates

Overview

As the National League Division Series (NLDS) approaches, the Los Angeles Dodgers are managing roster composition and player health in their pursuit of a third consecutive World Series title. While the team possesses a top-ranked starting rotation, concerns remain regarding offensive consistency and the cumulative fatigue of the roster.

Regarding player health, General Manager Brandon Gomes reported that Shohei Ohtani is “feeling great physically” following his recovery from right biceps and left knee issues. Ohtani has returned to the lineup for the final five games of the regular season and will use upcoming rest days to refine his hitting. Freddie Freeman is also expected to be available for the postseason after managing patellar tendinitis in his right knee, which impacted his production late in the season.

While reliever Edgardo Henriquez is slated to return from a back strain, the bullpen remains impacted by the loss of Blake Treinen, who is sidelined with right shoulder inflammation. Despite these challenges, manager Dave Roberts has expressed confidence in the depth of the pitching staff as the team prepares to face the winner of the Braves-Phillies Wild Card series.
