Los Angeles police impound 80 vehicles during street takeover

Los Angeles police officers intervened in an illegal street takeover on the Sixth Street Bridge involving a large gathering of mini-bikes, dirt bikes, and e-bikes. The operation resulted in over 70 individuals, ranging in age from 13 to 50, being handcuffed and issued misdemeanor arrest citations.

Authorities impounded nearly 80 motorized vehicles during the incident. Sergeant Robert Leary of the LAPD stated that the Street Racing Task Force implemented a plan to corner the riders on the bridge to prevent escape. While many participants were juveniles, police noted that approximately half of those cited were adults. Local business leaders expressed concern that such gatherings occur at the detriment of nearby residents and businesses.
