Los Cabos sees increase in sea turtle nesting activity

Sea turtle nesting activity has intensified along the coasts of Los Cabos. Local authorities reported that up to 350 specimens have been recorded in a single night as part of their natural reproductive cycle.

To manage the increase in nesting, the XV Ayuntamiento has reinforced its presence in nesting zones through surveillance patrols and nest monitoring. These efforts are conducted in coordination with public security and environmental agencies to reduce risks during the reproductive process. Officials have reminded the public that these species are protected under NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2010 and have advised citizens not to touch or move the turtles, and to avoid using camera flashes which can disorient them.
