SailGP Valencia: US SailGP Team wins Grand Prix as Los Gallos miss final

The SailGP Valencia Grand Prix concluded with the US SailGP Team securing victory in the final. Despite a strong start to the weekend by the Spanish team, Los Gallos, led by pilot Diego Botín, they were ultimately unable to secure a place in the final. After dominating the first day with two wins and a second-place finish, Los Gallos fell to third in Group B following a difficult Sunday marked by light winds and a poor start in their qualifying race. A scheduled fifth race was canceled due to lack of wind, leaving the Spanish crew tied on points with the second-place team but eliminated on tiebreakers.

In the final, the US SailGP Team, piloted by Taylor Canfield, managed to overtake the BONDS Flying Roos to claim the title. The event in Valencia had a significant economic impact, with organizers estimating a 100 million euro boost for the city and attracting approximately 100,000 spectators over the weekend. The competition featured 13 international teams racing F50 catamarans under challenging weather conditions.
