Los Rechazados 2: Misión Espacial set for August 13 release

The Dominican film “Los Rechazados 2: Misión Espacial” is scheduled for theatrical release on August 13. Directed by Yasser Michelén and produced by Bou Group, the sequel follows a group of improvised heroes in a near-future setting where a climate crisis and a powerful artificial intelligence threaten human civilization.

Actor Frank Perozo returns to play the character Benito, a role he has portrayed across three different productions over the last decade. Perozo noted that maintaining the character's consistency, including his specific accent and physical traits, has been a significant professional challenge.

The production aims to expand Dominican comedy to an international scale. Following the success of the first installment, which helped establish Bou Group as a studio with a presence on Disney+, this new film is expected to eventually arrive on the Disney+ streaming platform.
