Chile implements regional training and support programs for women
Various regional initiatives in Chile are focusing on enhancing the economic autonomy and professional skills of women through specialized training and financial support.
In the Los Ríos Region, 90 entrepreneurs completed the 2026 Academia Mujer Emprende, a program led by SernamEG and the Universidad de Chile that provided management tools and networking opportunities. Similarly, in the Maule Region, Nuevosur and SernamEG launched a plumbing training program for 20 women to enter traditionally male-dominated sectors.
Other vocational programs include Sence training 200 people in Chillán for roles in construction and gastronomy, and a manicure and pedicure course for women in Tarapacá. In the Malleco province, 160 women are receiving certification as primary caregivers. Additionally, the Tarapacá region has begun applications for the 'Tarjeta Banco de Materiales,' a housing subsidy for female heads of household to improve their homes.
