The municipality of Los Santos in the Santander department of Colombia is identified as a significant seismic zone, often referred to as the seismic nest of Bucaramanga. Residents of the town, which has approximately 12,000 inhabitants, report experiencing between 12 and 20 tremors daily, though most typically register between 3 and 4 on the Richter scale.

According to data from the Servicio Geológico Colombiano, a large majority of the country's seismic events originate in the Los Santos area. While many of these tremors are superficial or go unnoticed, they remain a constant feature of local life. Recent activity includes a seismic event measuring 4.2 magnitude.
