Lotte Shopping introduces shareholder benefit program
Lotte Shopping has announced the launch of the ‘L. Honors Club’, a shareholder benefit program set to begin on November 1. This initiative marks the first time a major South Korean conglomerate has implemented such a system, moving beyond traditional dividend-focused returns to offer tangible lifestyle benefits.
Under the new program, shareholders holding at least one share will receive 10–20% discount coupons for use across department stores, marts, supermarkets, and e-commerce platforms upon initial enrollment. Additionally, shareholders can earn point rewards based on specific purchase thresholds.
Long-term investors holding 1,000 or more shares for at least one year will receive premium benefits, including access to department store lounges, valet parking, and additional discount or free shipping coupons. These top-tier benefits are expected to apply to approximately the top 1% of shareholders.
Lotte Shopping aims to diversify its shareholder return methods and secure long-term investors. The company noted that while such programs are common among smaller consumer goods companies in South Korea, approximately 40% of listed companies in Japan already utilize similar shareholder benefit systems.
