Lotus Bakeries commits €500 million to expand Biscoff production globally

Lotus Bakeries announced a €500 million investment through 2030 to scale up production of its Biscoff biscuits and spreads.

The funding will be split among three new hubs: a new plant in Lembeke, Belgium; a facility in Mebane, North Carolina, USA slated to start operations in 2029; and an expansion at its Chonburi site in Thailand with a new production line expected in 2027.

The plan follows a first‑half‑year report showing 14 % revenue growth to about €750 million, operating profit up 23 % to €130 million and net profit remaining near €98 million.

CEO Jan Boone aims to make Biscoff the world’s third‑largest biscuit brand and is working with Mondelez International on a strategy to enter the Brazilian market.
