Lotus Bakeries global production expansion
Overview
Lotus Bakeries has announced a major global expansion plan, pledging at least €500 million in investment between 2026 and 2030. The initiative is designed to scale production of its Biscoff brand as the company aims to become the world’s third-largest biscuit brand.
The capital will be allocated to three primary locations: a new plant in Lembeke, Belgium; a facility in Mebane, North Carolina, USA, scheduled to begin operations in 2029; and an expansion of its Chonburi site in Thailand, with a new production line expected by 2027. Additionally, the company is working with Mondelez International on a strategy to enter the Brazilian market.
The investment follows strong financial performance in the first half of 2026, during which the company reported a 14% increase in revenue to approximately €750 million and a net profit of roughly €98 million. Biscoff volume grew by more than 20% during this period. Following these reports, analysts at Berenberg raised profit forecasts and price targets, noting that the company’s stock had risen 67% since the start of the year.
