Louis Crishock Remains Acting High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Peace Implementation Council (PIC) meeting failed to reach consensus on a successor to Christian Schmidt, leaving Louis Crishock as acting High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Office of the High Representative (OHR) issued an official statement confirming that Crishock will continue in the role until a new candidate is agreed upon by PIC members.

Bosnian officials, including Federation Minister Zoran Konaković, voiced strong support for Crishock, emphasizing the importance of institutional continuity for the legal security and implementation of the Dayton peace accord. Representatives of the Serbian Democratic Party also commented on the appointment process, noting that the candidate will not require UN Security Council confirmation.

During a recent EU visit, senior European Union military commanders met with Crishock and EU Special Representative Luigi Soreca, reaffirming the EU’s commitment to Bosnia’s stability and the ongoing cooperation of EUFOR in the region.
