Louisiana Residents Eligible for FEMA Aid After Tropical Storm Arthur

FEMA has opened applications for Individual Assistance to homeowners and renters in four Louisiana parishes—Avoyelles, St. Landry, St. Tammany and Terrebonne—that were damaged by Tropical Storm Arthur on June 17‑18. Eligible survivors may receive grants for home repairs, replacement of uninsured personal property, displacement assistance, serious needs support, and other disaster‑related expenses. The U.S. Small Business Administration also offers low‑interest disaster loans to businesses, nonprofits, and individuals.

Applicants can register online at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA mobile app, or by calling the helpline at 1‑800‑621‑3362. Assistance requires documentation such as proof of residence, insurance policy details, a list of damages, and banking information for direct deposit. Flood‑insurance claim filing is required first, and FEMA benefits cannot duplicate insurance coverage.
