Louvre Museum hosts exhibitions on cultural heritage and historical figures
The Carrousel du Louvre will host the 31st edition of the Salon International du Patrimoine Culturel from October 29 to November 1, 2026. Organized by Ateliers d'Art de France, the event features over 300 exhibitors showcasing more than 40 crafts under the theme ‘Patrimoine en lumières’ (Heritage in Lights). The exhibition focuses on the role of light in revealing materials and volumes in built and movable heritage, highlighting specialists such as glassmakers, bronziers, and lighting designers.
Additionally, the Louvre museum is hosting an exhibition titled ‘Figures du fou’ (Figures of the Fool), which explores the historical treatment of those perceived as insane from the Middle Ages to the end of the 19th century. The exhibition examines the social and religious roles of the ‘fool,’ ranging from royal jesters to the harsh conditions within psychiatric hospitals and historical medical practices.
