Lower Austria reports record tourism activity and new winter passes

Tourism in Lower Austria is seeing significant activity through regional pass programs. The NÖ Bergerlebnispass, entering its third season in 2026/27, provides access to ten different winter sports areas. A special family bonus is available during the super-pre-sale until October 31, allowing children under 11 to ski for free with one adult pass, or children up to age 15 to ski for free with two adult passes.

Additionally, the Niederösterreich-CARD reached record usage during the summer of 2026. In July and August alone, the card was used approximately 630,000 times, surpassing the previous record set in 2025. There are currently 240,800 cards in circulation. Popular destinations included outdoor swimming pools, mountain railways, and regions such as the Wiener Alpen and Mostviertel.
