LPG e-KYC deadline for Indian consumers ends today
The extended deadline for mandatory electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) verification for domestic LPG consumers in India concludes today, August 23. Oil marketing companies, including Indane (IOCL), Bharat Gas (BPCL), and HP Gas (HPCL), previously moved the cutoff from August 16 to August 23 to reduce congestion at distribution centers and allow more time for Aadhaar-based authentication.
The initiative aims to update consumer databases, eliminate duplicate or inactive accounts, and ensure the accurate delivery of subsidies to eligible households. Consumers who have already completed biometric verification are not required to repeat the process.
Failure to comply with the e-KYC requirement may result in temporary service disruptions, such as restrictions on cylinder bookings or the suspension of subsidized rates. To avoid visiting gas agencies, consumers can complete the process remotely using smartphone applications—IndianOil One, Hello BPCL, or HP Pay—combined with the government-authorized Aadhaar FaceRD app for facial recognition.
