Indonesia implements regional transport and logistics updates

Indonesia is implementing various transportation and logistics updates across several regions. In Jakarta, Transjakarta is adjusting feeder routes for housing complexes to improve efficiency, while the city continues its odd-even traffic restriction policy, which exempts 13 vehicle types including electric cars. Additionally, the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT route has seen an increase in daily passengers.

In East Java and Bali, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry is accelerating the recovery of the Ketapang-Gilimanuk ferry crossing following a blockade by truck drivers. To manage the resulting queues, which reached 12 kilometers in Ketapang, ASDP has deployed 25 ships and implemented a weight-based distribution strategy: vehicles over 30 tons use LCM ships, while lighter vehicles use MB vessels.

In North Sumatra, plans are underway to develop a logistics port in Gunungsitoli to prevent the Nias Islands from becoming isolated during natural disasters. Meanwhile, in South Nias, ASDP aims to launch the KMP Hafamati HF ferry service in October 2026 to improve inter-island connectivity for essential services and economic activity.
