LRT Jakarta Kelapa Gading–Manggarai inauguration postponed

The Jakarta Provincial Government has postponed the official inauguration of the Kelapa Gading–Manggarai LRT line, which was originally scheduled for August 26, 2026. The delay follows a final evaluation intended to refine services and improve facility inclusivity.

Governor Pramono Anung previously confirmed that the 12.2-kilometer rail and elevated track construction is 100 percent complete. The project is currently undergoing testing by the Ministry of Transportation. While the formal inauguration, which was expected to be attended by President Prabowo Subianto, has been rescheduled, the service is already operating with a flat transition fare of Rp 5,000 per trip.

Looking forward, the government plans to extend the LRT line to Dukuh Atas (Phase 1C) starting in 2027. This expansion, estimated to cost Rp 2.7 trillion, may be funded through regional bonds totaling Rp 5.6 trillion to be issued in stages during 2027 and 2028.
