LSU adds Texas running back and Louisiana cornerback to 2027 football recruiting class

The LSU Tigers football program announced two new verbal commitments for the 2027 recruiting class. Running back Brennen Lacey, a 5‑9, 190‑pound athlete from Frisco, Texas, pledged his services after fielding offers from programs including Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, TCU and Texas Tech. Lacey is ranked No. 42 nationally at his position by 247Sports.

Cornerback Markez Davis, a 6‑3 prospect from Northwest High near Opelousas, Louisiana, also signed with LSU. Previously a noted basketball player, Davis is ranked the No. 15 player in the state by 247Sports and visited LSU officially before committing.

Both recruits join a growing 2027 class that already includes tight end Ahmad Hudson, quarterback Peyton Houston and wide receiver Ah’Mari Stevens, among others slated for upcoming official visits.
