LTFRB announces new TNVS slots and Undas special permit applications
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has announced several initiatives to address public transportation demand in the Philippines. Starting September 21, the agency will accept applications for special permits for the upcoming All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days (Undas) period. These permits, valid from October 28 to November 6, aim to ensure sufficient bus services for travelers visiting their home provinces.
Additionally, the LTFRB is opening 8,750 slots for Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) units across Metro Manila, the Ilocos region, and the Bicol region. In Metro Manila, 7,500 of these slots are reserved exclusively for electric vehicles, including Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), to support government directives for environmentally friendly transport. Other allocations include 650 slots for the Ilocos region and 600 slots for the Bicol region, with specific distributions for both electric and internal combustion engine vehicles.
