Lua Blanco's brother reveals reason for actress's secret cancer diagnosis
Pedro Sol Blanco, the brother of Brazilian actress and singer Lua Blanco, has shared details regarding why the artist kept her colorectal cancer diagnosis private. Speaking on the program ‘Domingo Espetacular’, Pedro explained that Blanco wished to preserve her privacy during treatment and intended to only share the news once she could announce her recovery.
Blanco, known for her role as Roberta Messi in the Brazilian version of ‘Rebelde’, passed away on October 18, 2026, at the age of 39. The cancer was diagnosed in August and had reached an advanced stage, spreading to other organs. During her final weeks, she was treated at the National Cancer Institute (Inca).
Pedro Blanco also honored his sister by performing a new musical composition titled ‘Caminhada’, which he described as a tribute to her life and spirit. He noted that throughout her illness, Blanco maintained her faith and did not express despair or complaints.
