Luanda Convention Palace opens to boost Angola's business tourism

Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço has inaugurated the soft opening of the Luanda Convention Palace, a major development aimed at boosting the country’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector.

The 80,000 square meter facility, designed by the international architecture firm Sidara, features a 3,000-seat auditorium, an Oval Room for 420 guests, executive lounges, and a business center. The palace serves as the architectural centerpiece of the LUNDO Atlantic Hub, an ambitious 1.26 million square meter waterfront project that includes a marina, cruise terminal, golf course, and museums.

During the ceremony, President Lourenço encouraged the private sector to invest in the hospitality industry to capitalize on the economic opportunities created by business tourism. The project is expected to stimulate a broader economic value chain, impacting sectors such as catering, transport, and event production.
