President João Lourenço has inaugurated the Luanda Convention Palace in Angola to strengthen the nation’s business and event tourism sectors. The facility, representing an investment of approximately 290 billion kuanzas, includes a 3,000-seat amphitheater and various meeting rooms designed to host international gatherings, such as the 21st extraordinary session of the African Union Heads of State and Government conference.

The palace serves as the centerpiece of the LUNDO Atlantic Hub, a large-scale waterfront development project. During the inauguration, President Lourenço called for increased private sector investment in the hospitality industry to address the current lack of hotel capacity and to capitalize on the economic opportunities provided by the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector.
